Wet Cleaning

Wet Cleaning Equipment

What is Wet Cleaning?

The process of cleaning garments in water using specialized equipment, wet cleaning detergents, and precise water temperatures. In contrast to common laundering, careful use of mechanical action, temperature and chemistry are required to avoid garment damage that otherwise might occur in water.

What is a "Certified Professional Wetcleaner" (CPW)

Certified Professional Wet Cleaner

A professional dry cleaner that has met all the criteria from the "Drycleaning & Laundry Institute." A CPW requires a knowledge of a wide range of fibers and fabrics, specialized detergents and appropriate equipment.

Curtis Cleaners installed its first specialized wetcleaning washer in 1986. In April of 2004, our plant was totally destroyed by fire. This unfortunate event allowed us to re-equip our wetcleaning department with the most state-of-the-art equipment available and is one of the many reasons Curtis Cleaners received a "2005 Plant Design Award" from the "American Drycleaner", a national trade publication.
